Itzhak Fisher (Chairman & Partner) leverages over three decades of mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings experience, as an entrepreneur, investment manager and acquirer. As the former executive vice president of Global Business Development for Nielsen (until 2014), he was responsible for strategic business development initiatives and mergers and acquisitions that enhanced Nielsen’s capabilities. Itzhak deployed over $3 billion of investments for Nielsen, in over 30 ventures, ranging in size from $500,000 investments to over $1.3 billion, and serves as an advisor to Nielsen.
Prior to joining Nielsen, Itzhak executed multiple start-up-to sale successes. He was co-founder and chairman of Trendum, a leader in Internet search and linguistic analysis technologies. In 2005, he led Trendum’s acquisition of BuzzMetrics, an online word-of-mouth research leader, and negotiated its 2006 acquisition of Intelliseek. Itzhak served as chairman of the combined entity, BuzzMetrics,which was subsequently acquired by Nielsen in 2007 at a $110 million valuation. Following the acquisition, Itzhak served as the Chairman of Nielsen BuzzMetrics, the Executive Vice President of Global Product Leadership and the Executive Chairman of Nielsen’s Online division.
Previously Itzhak founded and served as president and CEO of RSL Communications (NASDAQ: RSLC), a telecommunications firm with operations in 22 countries across four continents with more than $1.5 billion in revenues. Under Itzhak’s leadership, in 1997 the business acquired a majority stake in internet protocol telephony, Delta Three Inc. for $10 million, which was separately publicly listed three years later with an initial public offering over $300 million. Itzhak also led RSL’s $33 million investment in Telegate (a German international directory assistance firm) and sold the interest approximately 2 years later for €300 million. In 1997, Itzhak led RSL Telecommunications’ listing on the NASDAQ at a valuation of over $1 billion.
ZIV BEN BAROUCH
Ziv Ben Barouch (Partner) brings over 20 years experience building and investing in technology ventures in the US and Israel. Ziv was a Senior Principal with Viola Group, the leading technology private equity investment group in Israel with over $2billion under management, where he was accountable for the assessment and negotiation of candidate investments, and served as a member of the investment. . Ziv also held the role as Chief Financial Officer of Plenus Venture Lending, one of Viola’s funds, responsible for overall financial and investor reporting of over $300 million of funds under management, as well as the turnaround of under-performing investments.
Recently Ziv served on the board of directors of Taptica Ltd. a mobile advertising company, leading its sale to Marimedia (MARI, AIM). He also serves on the board of Adimap and TravelersBox. Ziv also has extensive experience working as part of the executive teams of Israel-US technology ventures. Ziv served as the Chief Financial Officer of Spacenet Inc., a leading US-based provider of backup satellites services in North America leading the financial turnaround of the business, its merger with a complementary business, and its participation in a public offering of over $70m on the NASDAQ. Ziv also supported text mining firm, ClearForest, as their Chief Financial Officer, securing over $7 million in venture debt and $33 million in institutional financing rounds. Reuters subsequently acquired ClearForest. Prior to joining ClearForest, Ziv was the Vice President of The AKA an Israeli banking and government consortium managing over $5bn of distressed debt.
Ziv holds a Masters of Business Administration (Finance) from the City University of New York and a Bachelors degree in Arts (Economics and Accounting) from Tel- Aviv University. He is certified as an Israeli CPA.
Mark Leiter (Partner) is Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of Leiter & Company.
Mark recently served as Chief Strategy Officer of Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN), an S&P 500 company that delivers information services to 20,000+ clients in over 100+ countries around the world. He was a member of the CEO’s senior executive team and a member of the firm’s executive committee.
During his tenure working with Nielsen from 2006 through 2016 — initially as a consultant to the company and later as a full-time leadership team member — Mark provided global leadership for practice, product and client service organizations while playing a central role in designing Nielsen’s growth and go-to-market strategy.
Preceding his appointment as Chief Strategy Officer, his prior leadership roles at Nielsen included President, Global BUY Practices & Products ($3 billion division) and President, North American Professional Services ($1 billion division). He was part of a leadership team that raised Nielsen’s enterprise value by 200% (from $9 billion to $27 billion) as part of a private-equity led buyout in 2006, followed by a return to the public markets in 2011.
Mark spent the first decade of his career as a management consultant, primarily with McKinsey & Company. He served on McKinsey’s marketing practice leadership team, where he co-founded McKinsey’s B2B marketing and branding practices. He was subsequently a senior partner at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, where he served on the global leadership team for the firm’s strategy and transformation practice. Mark started his career at Bain & Company as a charter member of the firm’s loyalty practice.
Mark currently serves as a Board Member for the following organizations: Bard College (BCSR division), The VH1 Save The Music Foundation, The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Quantified Communications. He serves on The Conference Board’s Global Advisory Council and as a Global Counsellor, and is a Member (Trustee) of The Committee for Economic Development (CED).
Mark was a research fellow at Harvard Business School. He holds an M.A. from Harvard University and a B.A., summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany.
